      JoyConnect install guide for all EMIS users

      This guide is for any individuals setting up JoyConnect with EMIS, and it can allow you and your team to start referring patients. If you need any support please email support@thejoyapp.com

      What is JoyConnect?

      Completing this install will add the JoyConnect software onto the machine. This will need to be installed on every machine that would like to use JoyConnect to make referrals.

      You will need admin rights to install this software. 

      1. Open up the client record of a 'dummy' patient with an NHS number or 'real' patient on EMIS
      2. Joy is bundled with an auto-updater and we would recommend downloading and installing an older version to validate that the automated patch process is working.
        1. Installation version
        2. Latest Version. (installation will update to this)
      1. Please click on the installed file
      2. Click yes on the pop-up window stating 'Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?'

      3.  Click 'download' on the file

       6. Using the arrow in the top right-hand corner of your screen, click on the downloaded file to open it

          7. You will need to click install when this window appears

        If you cannot see this window please look at the bottom of your screen for this icon:

        If you click this icon it will open the window.

        • You will see the below screen when JoyConnect is installing

          8.    Once installation is successful click 'close' on this window

        Please Install .net (if required)

        • If you don't have .net installed it will prompt you to install .net
        • If you do have .net installed skip this step
        • Once this is finished installing you will have to restart JoyConnect

           

        Activate JoyConnect - the final step


        Enter your EMIS username and password on the activation window shown below.

        This will appear automatically - if not, look for JoyConnect in your taskbar or ask your practice manager.

        The JoyConnect widget will appear on your screen

        Note: You may need to wait a minute for the icon to appear. If you still cannot see the icon after a few minutes, check or expand your taskbar - the JoyConnect application may be minimised there.

            Click the '+' symbol to open JoyConnect

            That's it! You can now start making referrals through JoyConnect.
